What is an Alert?
An Alert is a notification we send to your e-mail or cell
phone when your favorite band (or song) is about to play on the radio. This
usually means that the song will be one of the next few songs to play.
What is a Digital Dedication?
A Digital Dedication is when you send an Alert to someone
else with a personal message attached. You pick an upcoming song, tell us who
to send it to (their e-mail address or cell phone number/provider) and we send
it to them. Then your friend can tune in and listen while reading your private
message!
Is there a charge to receive an Alert? Will my friend
get charged to receive their Dedication?
JackFlash doesn’t charge anything (other than the $0.99 per
month or $9.99 per year subscription cost) to use Alerts and Dedications.
However, your cell phone provider or your friend’s cell phone provider may
charge to receive text messages (check with your wireless provider). That’s
why when you make a Dedication we ask for your friend’s wireless provider. We
figure if you know their provider then they likely aren’t strangers, which
helps prevent them from getting tons of Dedications from people they don’t
know!
I sent a Dedication by the person didn’t receive it, why?
There are a number of reasons why someone might not receive
their Dedication. They may not be looking at their email, or have their cell
phone off, or – the phone number/service provider may be incorrect.
Why do I need to provide the recipients cell phone
provider to make a Dedication?
We want to protect the privacy of everyone using our
service. We don’t want anyone to abuse our service and so to protect the
recipients of our Dedications we require that you know their cell phone
provider. We will keep an eye on this – and if this becomes an issue with
JackFlash members being able to send Dedications then we may have to come up
with something else (we are interested in making it easy to use!).
How many Alerts and Dedications can I send every month?
Send to your hearts content!! Unlimited. However, please
don’t bug someone with millions of Dedications (going to the same person)!
Why is this only available on 101.1 JACK FM?
Well, JACK FM is the best station in New York City!! JACK
FM has one of the largest playlists of any station in the city – which means there
are more songs to choose from to get Alerts and to send Dedications! Plus,
there’s a big variety of music – certain to hit most everyone’s tastes.

How do you know when my favorite song is going to play?
That’s secret! Actually, it takes some very special
software connecting us directly to the station which watches what is about to
play on-air (no, contrary to some people’s opinions we do not have a webcam
hidden inside the studio watching what songs JACK decides to play!)….
Why is there a subscription charge to use the service?
Well, this stuff ain’t cheap to run! It costs money to
handle the Alerts and to send Dedications. Plus, we want to make this an
exclusive service. If you want to know the future – when your favorite songs
will play – then JackFlash is for you!
What is Song ID?
This is a very cool feature!! How many times have you head
a song on JACK FM and were dying to know the name of the song? Well, this is
for you. Just call 1-866-ITS-JACK and we’ll tell you over the phone the
current and previous songs. Right now it’s included as part of your membership
to JackFlash. We’re hoping to keep it free – but if you use it a lot then we
may have to charge something small to use it in the future. Don’t worry, we’ll
let you know! Remember – you have to be a subscriber to JackFlash to use this
feature – no one else has access to it!!
